Early Morning, Lake Tenaya, Sierra Nevada, Yosemite National Park, California, 1975. Prints widely exhibited, stock extensively published including in "The Range of Light" by Philip Hyde with quotes by John Muir. In "The Range of Light" Philip Hyde wrote that at age 17, in 1939, on his second trip to Yosemite with the Boy Scouts, they stayed at Lake Tenaya. Philip Hyde paddled out on the lake alone one night in a canoe and sat "for long minutes, my head cocked back so I could see, entranced by the millions of pinpoints of light--a city kid whose only views of the night sky had been through fog or haze and light-flared dense city air. That was my first brush with the immensity, silence and solitude of wilderness."
